Because of the high number of new releases in connection with the world’s largest board game fair, SPIEL, delivery times may currently be extended. We kindly ask for your understanding.

The crazy card game is back with new cards and even more silliness! DONE I AM can be played stand-alone or in combination with the cards from I AM DONE.

The game rules are easy to explain: To win, a player must be the first to place the three cards “DONE,” “I,” and “AM” in front of them. The player whose turn it is may either draw a new card or play a card from their hand and do what the card says. However, these basic instructions are more of a guideline because what actually takes place during a turn is dictated by the chaotic instructions found on the cards. For example, the “Dumpster wheel” first causes the discard pile to be shuffled into the draw pile, then two cards are drawn. A player could place a “Surprise!” “Orders from high above,” or “Schrödinger's nightmare” card, which can really shake up the game. DONE I AM contains 83 new cards, illustrated by 35 artists, and adds even more twists, turns and fabulously fun nonsense.

Illustrationen und Karten des Kartenspiels FERTIG ICH HABE

More cards, more nonsense!

You thought you were done? Wrong! DONE I AM follows directly after I AM DONE. To win in the second part, again, you don't have to do anything except to have the cards “DONE,” “I,” and “AM” in front of you before anyone else. To do so, in each round, you either draw a card or play one.

But those of you who have already played the first part know that it's not that easy, because your fellow players will sabotage you as much as they can. Whether with a “Distraction” or a “Backflip,” every game offers new options!

The artwork

What makes I AM DONE unique is not only its straightforward gameplay, but also its extraordinary design, as the +- 72 cards in the game were illustrated not by one or two persons, but by a total of 30 artists.

Designer Marco Teubner came up with the idea for this highly unusual concept right from the start, as all of the game's cards were illustrated with whatever images he could find to serve as examples. And since the wild hodgepodge was a perfect fit for the quirky game concept, illustrators were sought who were interested in participating in this unusual project.

The illustrators

(Surnames sorted from A-Z)

Marlies Abramowski loves incorporating natural and social themes into her artistic work. What particularly appealed to her about this project was the interplay of painting, illustration, and lettering—and the joy of playing together with her family. She works as an illustrator and artist in the Altes Land region near Hamburg and is a member of the FLUNST e.V. artist collective.

Oscar Ana is an illustrator and concept artist with a passion for narrative imagery. Oscar designs characters, scenes, and game components which are atmospheric, humorous, and a bit tongue-in-cheek. He particularly enjoyed working for Pegasus Spiele: humorous characters, turbulent gaming experiences, and exciting card concepts—exactly how he likes telling stories in pictures.

Nathalia Bartnik has been drawing since she was a child and always enjoyed designing characters. Now, as a designer, she is able to incorporate this into projects from time to time. Since she enjoys gaming herself, whether digital or analog, she always wanted to contribute to a game in some way. With DONE I AM, the time has finally come!

Jessica Bayerlein, also known online as Soulsilvercat, is an illustrator and graphic designer from Haltern am See. She offers a variety of different illustration styles, drawing examples from things like linocuts and stained-glass windows. Therefore, she was enthusiastic about DONE I AM's concept and diversity. She draws anything that's colorful, crazy, and simply fun!

Florian Biege works as an illustrator and comic artist in Münster. He enjoys exploring new styles, unknown worlds, quirky characters, and bizarre creatures. Furthermore, he loves inventing, illustrating, and playing games, practicing yo-yo tricks, and watching his favorite old movies.

Marek Bláha has been a freelance illustrator since 2009 and likes monsters, dragons, and anything fantasy-related. He believes that eyes somehow make everything more interesting. He was enthusiastic about illustrating the iconic luminous master for DONE I AM, which served as the inspiration for the game's title.

Stephanie Böhm is a German illustrator for role-playing games and board games. She specializes primarily in character design. Her work ranges from cute, stylized illustrations to realistic sci-fi and horror. In 2017, her work was nominated for the Ennie Award (Best Interior Illustration). She currently lives in France.

Markus Erdt has been drawing since his childhood, and enjoys working on various creative projects. He has been working as an illustrator for over 15 years, with a strong focus on board games for publishers around the world. He also occasionally works on books and apps or for museums. His style is imaginative, playful, lively, and colorful.

Hamburg-based pixel artist Stefanie Fehling has been combining the nostalgia of 8-bit video games with life in the here and now since 2017. Her animations, which have also graced music videos by Alt-J and Turin Brakes, focus on lonely streets, bridges, and city lights. Disused, definitely still drivable pixel cars end up in the DONE I AM second hand yard.

Klemens Franz has been working as a graphic designer and illustrator for around 20 years, helping to design board games. He does this at atelier198 together with his wife, five children, and a fluctuating number of cats. He lives in the southeasternmost corner of Austria (without disrupting the country's regular operations, thankfully ...).

As a huge boardgame fan, being involved in creating illustrations for card games like DONE I AM is a lot of fun for Irina French! The humor in it was an added bonus! She has a lot of experience working in the industry, focusing mostly on character art, with fantasy style being her favourite.

After many years of drawing and painting, David Garzás Villanueva can finally dedicate himself wholeheartedly to his greatest passion. He usually works with both traditional techniques (such as watercolors, India ink, acrylics, etc.), and digital techniques (no AI, of course). He's a huge fan of fantasy and science fiction: monsters, warriors, wizards, aliens, interstellar travel... These are his favorite things to do! Although he also likes to explore new themes in his illustrations, as long as the project is interesting.

Anna Glinsmann is an illustrator who studied in Hamburg but feels more at home in the countryside, surrounded by farms and plenty of nature. She also creates her own indie games. She loves seeing her drawings come alive in digital games, board and card games as well as in animated videos.

Annika Heller

Annika Heller

Annika Heller is an illustrator and has been working full-time at Deep Print Games for several years. Since then, she's rarely had the chance to do small side quests like this one. As a fan of I AM DONE, she was thrilled to be able to join in! When she's not drawing, she's usually out in nature or immersed in her latest creative hobby (currently, it's knitting).

Berin Jusufbegovic enjoys experimenting with new styles and workflows, which is why there is so much variation in his works. When he was approached to work on the game DONE I AM, he was very excited because all the cards intentionally look different, and each style finds its place.

Natalia Kordowska is a painter and illustrator. She loves taking slow walks through meadows, where she can find peace and draw endless inspiration from nature. Although she has a special fondness for mixing colors on a palette, she also works with digital graphics, creating illustrations for books and games.

Bartłomiej Kordowski lives in Toruń, Poland, with his wife and their two daughters. He is an illustrator, and just like his wife, he loves painting. He specializes in artwork for board and card games, from designing icons to creating full cover illustrations. He enjoys working in different styles and diving into a variety of worlds—like the wacky DONE I AM.

Tina Kraus is a freelance illustrator and paper engineer from Münster. She works in a variety of fields, from children's books to cookbooks to board games, and enjoys exploring new styles. She is particularly drawn to quirky creatures of all kinds. In addition to illustration, Tina specializes in pop-up books and paper objects under the name faltmanufaktur.

Digital visual worlds full of mystery and atmosphere—Rufus Krieger's art plays with reality and fantasy, questions the familiar, and invites wonder. Surreal and thoughtful—works that tell stories and open up new perspectives.

Rebecca Krikau is a freelance illustrator and character designer from Mainz, Germany. Her work focuses on story-driven character design, playing with emotions, and atmospheric visualization of text. Her style is characterized by vibrant colors and a playful aesthetic. In addition to book design, her illustrations are used in games, editorial, web, and animation.

Alexis Laumaillé is primarily a comic book author and an illustrator for children’s magazines. He also occasionally creates visuals for communication projects. But this is the first time he has made illustrations for a game, and it’s a real joy: he has been a board game player since childhood.

Dennis Lohausen is a professional illustrator living in Cologne. If he hadn't become an illustrator, certainly he would have become something else: a joker, a master of Tic-Tac-Toe, a quantum mechanics nightmare, a conspiracy theorist, a time traveler, the First Rat on the Moon, maybe even the Grim Reaper... But since none of that is possible right now, he remains an illustrator, because then he can be all those things—in a way...

Sonja Müller (Holumpa) is a game illustrator and character designer with a big heart for animals. Designing funny, expressive, cute, and unusual animal characters is therefore a particular passion of hers. Of course, she couldn't pass up the fantastic opportunity to work with many other illustrators on a joint game project and let her imagination run wild for a prompt!

Once upon a time, there was a king named Midas, and everything he touched turned to gold. It's similar with Nedde, except that unfortunately, not everything she touches turns gold; instead, everything she draws has a somewhat cartoonish quality. But that doesn't matter; the main thing is that she enjoys her work—and the people she draws for do too. She prefers creating characters, preferably with a touch of humor.

Robert Nippoldt is a German illustrator and book artist. He earned renown through various book publications about the 1920s and drawings for the US magazines “The New Yorker” and “Time”. He has received over two dozen awards worldwide. Nowadays, he draws live on stage with more and more frequency. As a jack of all trades, he sometimes ventures into artwork for board games as well.

David Roterberg, a long-time illustrator, has only recently entered the board and card game industry, but already feels right at home. DONE I AM offered a welcome opportunity to try something new stylistically. He lives in Hamburg with his wife, his greatest admirer and even greater critic.

After completing her graphic design training and studying Japanese studies, Petra Singer became a freelance artist in Austria. Under the name “Train's de Tales”, she exhibits her art at anime, manga, and gaming fairs in German-speaking countries—from detailed illustrations to puns featuring cute kittens transformed into bread, cake, and other items.

Ina Steden, an illustrator from Zurich, has been painting since childhood. Using watercolors, colored pencils, and gouache, she enjoys devoting herself to every detail of her nature-inspired motifs full of animals and plants. When she's not teaching art classes, she's kept company by her three cats. Her work can be found in books, magazines, product packaging, and stationery—and now also in DONE I AM.

Since a career as an astronaut, rock star, or teacher didn't work out, Claus became an illustrator. In game design, he finds it particularly exciting and appealing to find a good balance between form and function as a team with editors and authors. In the case of DONE I AM, he had the opportunity to create two illustrations. Given the game's concept, it made sense to work with two different illustration styles. He decided to use a more graphic, flat approach for one—inspired by old poster designs—and a more photorealistic approach for the other card, with light and shadow effects. Both illustrations tell a little story; the images should show more than just a repetition of the text.

Stolli is an illustrator and artist from the Ruhr region. He works passionately on books, art, and games. For him, games offer the perfect blend of narrative and interaction—living works of art with illustrations that go beyond mere decoration. The highly diverse DONE I AM appealed to him, and he's very happy to be a small part of it.

Julius Thesing is an illustrator, designer, and a bit of a writer. In his work, he strives to visualize social issues and address the pain of the world with humor and warmth. He is happy that DONE I AM gives a platform to a wide variety of illustrators, which is a particularly positive sign in the age of AI.

Christof Tisch

Christof Tisch

Christof Tisch grew up at the foot of the Black Forest mountains. Gaming and drawing were among his favorite hobbies from an early age and, surprisingly, led to a real career. As an illustrator, graphic designer, editor, and author, he has been active in the board game industry for some time. He now lives in Wiesbaden and is always ready for bike rides in the Taunus hills—partly in order to let his creative juices flow.

Karin Wittig has been working as a freelance illustrator since 2011, primarily on fantasy games and books, with a focus on characters, objects, and maps of fantasy worlds. In addition to commercial work, she also enjoys painting animal portraits. She loves board games, video games, and tabletop role-playing games, so she is always happy to have the opportunity to contribute to these genres with her work.
